Thanks to all who joined us for Exploring Class and Classism
UUs from across the United States took part in UU Class Conversations’ hour-long online training in April 2026 to explore the concepts – and real-life significance – of social class and classism. Through a series of interactive exercises and activities, they discovered their social class background and how it has shaped their worldview.
Workshop guests also discussed the many ways that classism undermines beloved community. More importantly, participants looked at how valuable social class diversity is within our UU denomination and how to build on different class experiences to grow a stronger, more cohesive congregation.
This short workshop will be offered again in a few months. It gives a sense of the full and half-day trainings offered by UUCC. If you are interested in bringing this work to your congregation in person or online, we will work with you to design a session or sessions that will help you strengthen your UU community while providing a framework for making real change within your larger community as well.
“Thank you for all of the research, thinking and writing that went into creating this workshop. I learned that the class issues in our congregation are more complex than I imagined.” W…
